Jamie Foxx stars as Dave Franco and Jamie Foxx is the star of "Day Shift", a new movie about vampire hunting. The story follows a blue collar father who wants to provide a comfortable life for his daughter. However, his job as a pool cleaner in San Fernando Valley is just a façade for his true source of income: hunting and killing vampires for the International Union of Vampire Hunters.It sounds like a fun idea, but can J.J. Perry bring it to life?
The opening scene of the movie is a bonkers action sequence with Jamie Foxx shotgun blasting the hell out of an old lady who turns out to be a vampire. The two of them then have a wild fight that turns out to be a great time. I think the movie is having a lot fun with the rag-doll action scenes. It makes those sequences pop in an action movie that's not as popular as some of the other Netflix action movies or blockbusters.
Day Shift was another film I enjoyed. It's a fun and light-hearted film that I found enjoyable. I found it entertaining and not too complicated. It featured great action and was unique. It had good humor and I found myself laughing out loud a fair bit. Of course, it was inspired by some fantastic vampire films such Blade and Lost Boys. Both of these films happen to be some my favorite movies. The acting was flawless, the directing excellent and the cinematography very impressive. Day Shift is a film that's both entertaining and lighthearted. It's great fun.
Day Shift had mixed reviews. Day Shift vampire movie One side is that there are lots of action scenes and some funny characters (the brothers and Seth), while the villain was awful and a lot poor characters. Although it helps the best characters shine, I think Day Shift is mixed. There were scenes missing that were not shown. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had three minutes of screen time before the final scene. Bud's prank phone calling at the gas station was the best moment of the movie. It was hilarious, and I loved watching it. The movie's rest was not as enjoyable. Day Shift, in the end, is a mixed bag. There are good parts, and there are bad parts. You could find a better movie if you are looking for some laughs.
Snoop Dogg almost got lost in my thoughts. He's great in Day Shift. The whole movie is worth it because of him. His comedy is great and he's funny. More importantly, he just feels so natural in the part. It's as if he was made for the role.
